I had the privilege and honor of hearing surgeon and author, Atul Gawande, share reflections from his New York Times best selling book, “Being Mortal”. Reading the book and hearing him speak about the amazing work being done in Massachusetts gave me a great sense of pride and fulfilment as a social worker in our state. So many grass roots efforts and pilot programs have lead to health care providers revolutionizing the way we help our senior age well. I encourage anyone who has not read this refreshing book to treat yourself!
